The Koprivnica and Križevci county is located in the northern part of Croatia and it contains the fertile area of Podravina, stretching from Bilogora to the Hungarian border, and the Kalnik hills.
This large county includes 3 towns: Križevci, Đurđevci and Koprivnica and 25 smaller localities. Koprivnica is the administrative center and the oldest city in the county, while Đurđevci is the center of agricultural development of the area.
This county has a good geographic and traffic position and due to the central position along the roads toward the eastern and central Europe and from Zagreb to the Adriatic, present significant possibilities for development.
Due to the lowland areas, mild continental climate, many forests and ore mineral riches along with the possibilities for horticulture and viticulture development, this part of Croatia became the agricultural center with excellent production. There is also a well developed methane industry which makes an important energetic basis of Croatia.
The county of Koprivnica and Krizevci si also rich in cultural and scientific institutions with the famous Hlebine that are the home of the Gallery of Naive Art. The works of Ivan Generalić and other naive artist that this area has produced such as Lacković, Večenaj and Kovačevič present the permanent exhibits of this popular Gallery.
Here are many sights of the historic heritage like the Gothic church of sv.Kriz that dominates the town and the very famous ancient Roman "via magna', a crossroad of international traffic routes that pass over Rijeka-Budapest toward Graz, Vinkovci and the countries of south-eastern Europe.
